hey bp...

just wanted to claim my space on the "blackplanet," and, hopefully, meet some interesting inhabitors...my name is pam, and I live in Indy...I know some of you might be thinking "Naptown," but, these days, especially considering the Colts at the Superbowl, we're really coming up.

my degree's in journalism...therefore (and, you'll find out by viewing my page), I love to write..., and I'll be displaying some of my writings for you all to enjoy...and, most importantly, I love God...reading about Him, writing about Him, talking about Him...so, you'll also find some of my devotionals on my page that will be displayed for your pleasure as well...

devotional...

"And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing, ye shall receive." - Matthew 21:22

Have you ever wanted something so bad you could taste it? Your sheer desire for it was so strong, so heavy that you could just feel it. And, you couldn't sit still because your wanting of it, the part of you that just couldn't live without it, wouldn't let you get any peace?

Now, that you know what you want, do you know how to get it? Do you know the avenues with which you will have to go to receive it? How will you go about fulfilling this need or want that's been dwelling deep inside your heart?

I'll tell you how - by prayer. Prayer is a gift that God has given us to speak to his son, Jesus, a tool that we can use to tell Him exactly what we need and want. But, there are some stipulations: you first have to ask, and, then, you have to believe.

Now (and, I'm speaking for myself here), asking is pretty simple, but believing could use a little bit of work. Sometimes, we want to believe, and we even have the best intentions of believing, but our actions just don't show it.

Or, what about when we constantly worry about situations and problems over and over again? Do you think your mind, the way you're thinking, is really pleasing God?

It's not...God wants us to believe and to pray without ceasing because it shows Him how much we love Him and trust that He knows what's best for our lives.

God will give you more than you could ever dream, more than you could ever imagine if you let Him. All you have is one job - to believe. That's it. No subliminal messages or hidden gimmicks.

Just believe. And, He'll take the lead from there...but, you have to let Him.

Just let Him.

"For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." - I Samuel 16:7b

These days...we're always putting on a show for somebody, putting on a face. We put on a face for church, we put on a face for work, and we put on a face for wherever else we might go. Some of us even put on a face for our families.

Why? What are the reasons? How could we possibly do this?

Most of the time, it's because we don't think we have what it takes to be accepted or loved...it's because we don't think we're enough.

According to Samuel, we, as human beings, look at the outward appearance of a person. The way we talk, walk and dress. We, more often than not, always want to see if someone is going to slip, if there could be a chance that they could mess up.

Me, you and everyday people sum us up on how we appear to be, but God examines our heart and exposes who we actually are...the man, woman, boy or girl that he created us to be.

the corners
of my mind

colors
leap out
from insignificant spaces

honeysuckles
spring out
from their hiding places

leaving me
feeling

Fallin' in Love

hey...hey...listen up. i'm gonna tell you how to fall in love, and I'm just gonna tell you once because, once you know how to do it, you'll never want to forget it.

first...you gotta find somebody you like. you know, somebody that's content and stable in their ownselves... somebody that's gonna do you right.

second...you guys gotta get to know each other pretty good. i mean...you guys really gotta be tight. you know, spendin' time together, going out to eat or watchin' a movie...somethin' like that.

whatever you do...just make sure you do it together, and, ask each other questions like "Do you work or go to school?," "What plans do you have for the future?," and "Are you close to your family?"

oh...I almost forgot. and, now, this is a really important thing, but it really needs to be there. make sure you're attracted to the person 'cause, even though it's not the most important thing, it really helps out a lot.

before you know it...you're really gettin' into that person. spendin' time with them, gettin' to know them, and enjoyin' their company.

and...pretty soon...without you even knowin' it, you'll find yourself fallin' in love.

so...if you feelin' me...write me note and send it on...come on.

till the next...love, joy, happiness and two fingers (peace).

"Prayer is not asking for what you want, but asking to be changed in ways you can't imagine."

- Kathleen Norris

"If you regret something that you did in your past, but it's made you a better person today, let it go; you shouldn't waste your time wishing that you hadn't did something that's made you take a look at your life, make some changes and move towards a positive direction."

"The thing that is really hard, and really amazing, is giving up on
being perfect and beginning to work on becoming yourself."
~ Anna Quindlen, American author

"God is in everyone of us - from the homeless family desperately searching for a house to call home to the person that believes their riches make them everything. He's in us because he made us, created us, formed us from nothing into something, and buried in us a piece of Him...and, it's when we find this piece that we find ourselves, who we really are, and what we hope to be."

we're all looking for something, aren't we? something or someone to help define us, to make us more of who we are...for some of us, that might be a thing, but for many, it's a special person. what will that person be like? have you ever thought about that, or even made a list...and, if you have, and had a chance to get your "list", would you even want it? it's just something to think about...because i find, for me, what i want changes constantly, what i need is always a continuous...
